ID 4758 STUDIO: GROUP PROJECT WITH ARCHITECTURE STUDENTS

OVERVIEW

Envisioned to be living-learning environment that prioritizes connection, community, and a sense of place along the Mississippi River. The design embraces the riverfront setting as both a natural landmark and a cultural anchor, shaping a residence that fosters belonging while celebrating its unique context.

The architecture weaves together communal spaces, shared piers, and flexible gathering areas to encourage interaction and collaboration among students. Indoor-outdoor connections maximize views of the river and create opportunities for social, academic, and recreational engagement in a healthy, restorative environment. Drawing inspiration from the rhythms of the Mississippi and the bridge, the design integrates fluid circulation patterns, open spaces, and layered communal zones that support both vibrant group activity as well as moments of reflection.
